Here is what you need to do to get Quake working on your Nokia n95:

1 – Download and run this on your nokia n95

http://koti.mbnet.fi/hinkka/pips_s60_1_2_SS.sis

This lets you run the compiled c++ code that the quake engine has been coded in on you s60 device – your Nokia n95.

2 – Everything installed ok so far? Now you need to install quakes game engine (the quake game) by downloading and installing this to your phone

http://koti.mbnet.fi/hinkka/quake_v104_armv6_fpu.sisx

3 – You now have the game engine installed on you n95 there is just one more thing you need to play quake. The .pak file. This is the main file of the game that contains all the games graphics, sounds maps etc. To get a free version of the .pak file, you need to download and install the quake demo from ID here on your PC.

4 – Once you have installed the game to your computer, navigate to the games directory. I will be somethig like c:quake1 and go the the ID1 directory c:quake1ID1

Here you will find the pak0.pak file.

Now create a directory on you n95 memorycard quake1id1 and upload the pak0.pak file from your hard drive there.

5 – Thats it. Your can now play the quake demo on you Nokia n95! Obvcourse, if you have the full game you can just comp the full game .pak file and you will have the full game too!

The iPhone 5 is coming and people are already gossiping. There have already been several unofficial images leaked to places like Twitter and Digg showing the supposedly edge to edge glass design of the new phone.

Although the iPhone 5 has been scheduled for release this summer, there is still no final word from Apple on the features it will have and there has been speculation that the earthquake and subsequent disasters in Japan may delay this years release. Here is my wish list of features what I like the new iPhone may have.

Better home screen

Android devices allow users to customize their home screens by adding app widgets to any available space. I am also a fan of Androids notification bar at the top of the screen showing email, text, updates excerpts etc. The current iPhone home screen is simple and sleek, but it isn’t very customizable. You can add and remove app icons and folders and move them about, but that’s about it. The home screen has not really changed since the original iPhone was released way back in 2007.

Retina Super AMOLED Display

The iPhone 4 has an excellent hi resolution display but it has one major flaw. Its backlit. The iPhone 4 black levels are woeful with a contrast ratio of 800:1 compared to a 100,000:1 ratio for Nexus S Super AMOLED display. It is especially obvious in low light situations (like the pub) making the screen look grey and washed out. Check out the comparison below.

Also, because its backlit, it uses more power than a Super AMOLED screen and thus drains you precious battery life quicker. There are rumours floating around that Apple have a huge order of Super AMOLED screen from the worlds largest manufacture OLED producer – Samsung. Lets hope we see these displays being used in the new iPhone 5.

Improved camera

The camera in the iPhone 4 was a great improvement over previous iPhone models but as always, there is room foe improvement. Apple are almost 100% sure to implement an 8 megapixel camera developed by Sony in the iPhone 5. They are capitalizing on the fact that consumers are now moving away from digital cameras and prefer devices which have multi-function capabilities such as the iPhone. With this upgrade, they are sure to get more attention from photo savvy individuals.

Faster processing

This feature is 100% sure to be implemented too. Apple has recently acquired PA Semiconductors and has been experimenting on its own processors for device use. Their latest is the A5 dual core processor which is also going in the iPad 2. This upgrade also comes due to strict competition from Motorola, HTC, LG, Samsung and many others that have released dual core smart phones.

These are some of the features I would like to see in any new iPhone 5. Tell me what you think and leave your comments below.
